Hi there, after coming back to uni after 1,5 years (and having switched to iwd in the meantime) I can't connect to eduroam (or my universities other, similar wpa enterprise network). Everything was working fine with wpa_supplicant and the following config:

WPAConfigSection=( 'ssid="eduroam"' 'proto=WPA2' 'key_mgmt=WPA-EAP' 'eap=PEAP' 'identity="myuniemail"' 'password="mypassword"' #'ca_cert="/etc/ssl/certs/Deutsche_Telekom_Root_CA_2.pem"' 'phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"' )

My iwd config looks like this:

[Security] EAP-Method=PEAP EAP-Identity=anonymous EAP-PEAP-Phase2-Method=MSCHAPV2 EAP-PEAP-Phase2-Identity=myuniemail EAP-PEAP-Phase2-Password=mypassword

I have also tried: Using TTLS, using an another (and no) EAP-Identity, using a certificate, using a ServerDomainMask, unfortunately all without success. The logs say:

Okt 12 11:05:42 arch iwd[10847]: PEAP: Tunnel has disconnected with alert: handshake_failure Okt 12 11:05:43 arch iwd[10847]: EAP completed with eapFail Okt 12 11:05:43 arch iwd[10847]: 4-Way handshake failed for ifindex: 6, reason: 23 Okt 12 11:05:45 arch iwd[10847]: PEAP: Tunnel has disconnected with alert: handshake_failure Okt 12 11:05:46 arch iwd[10847]: EAP completed with eapFail Okt 12 11:05:46 arch iwd[10847]: 4-Way handshake failed for ifindex: 6, reason: 23 Okt 12 11:05:47 arch iwd[10847]: EAP completed with eapFail Okt 12 11:05:47 arch iwd[10847]: EAP negotiation stopped after the Identity exchange, this can happen when the EAP-Identity value is not what the authenticator expects Okt 12 11:05:47 arch iwd[10847]: 4-Way handshake failed for ifindex: 6, reason: 23

The eduroam-cat doesn't have a script for my university, so I can't gather more information from that. Does anyone have an idea on what else I could try?

Hey all,

I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger on an XPS 13 9310 (the 2020 edition). Tiger Lake i7, 32gb of RAM, 4K panel, etc.

I saw the hardware page on the Wiki, and read through it completely. It looks mostly fine.

Before I go through with this, I just wanted to see if there were any 9310 users (specifically those with the 32GB RAM model because it comes with the AX500 wifi) on the latest kernel (5.15.12 as of this post, I believe) who had any experiences to share about the following:

Battery life (I read some reports about S3 sleep being an issue?). I know, I'm getting a 4K panel, and that's likely to be far more of a drain than anything else, still would love to know about any other issues though!

Wifi performance (I'm assuming this is fine with the latest kernel)

How prevalent (if at all) those random hangs on i915 are

If possible, how KDE Wayland works on it, especially with an external monitor over Thunderbolt

I'm hoping the distinct lack of issues/bugs/complaints in the last few months means that this will be a very solid machine to run Arch on.

I have no desire to game on my laptop. It's primarily for heavy web browser usage, programming/development, and from time to time, video playback.

Thank you very much in advance!

   submitted by    /u/FrozenCrunch
[link]   [comments]

I wrote my CV with org mode, thinking this would make it easier to refresh it by simply adding new refs to my bibliography file, but it's not as smooth as I expected.

I tried org-ref, but I hardly can make it work again any time I need it.
Now I'm trying with basic latex, and I still can't make it work correctly. (I've heard about the new citation system but it's not released yet and I'm really not trying to experiment a lot of things and change my whole
completing-read
backend right now)

I am down to this situation: at the end of my org file I specify the bibliography file, style, and
nocite
everything with a
*
(because I really don't want to manually add every ref, that's the whole point)

\nocite{*} \bibliography{biblio} \bibliographystyle{plain}

This nearly works, as it inserts a bibliography at the end of my CV, but the citations are in the order of the bibtex file, which would not be a problem if zotero did not completely randomize those refs.
Maybe someone here does know how to get zotero to export in a set order, or org/latex to cite in a set order?

Also,
bibliographystyle{…}
seems to be completely ignored as it's always the same citation style no matter what I write between the curly braces. Do I need to use a package even for the basic citation styles?

My
org-latex-pdf-process
(of which I have found countless different versions on the web…) is
'("latexmk -pdflatex='lualatex -shell-escape -interaction nonstopmode' -pdf -f %f")
, maybe it's not the right one? (previously I had one that circulates with 4 entries in the list, it's not getting me better results)

I'm on archlinux with texlive-core, texlive-bin, texlive-latexextra, texlive-bibextra, and bibtool installed. Org is 9.4.6. Emacs is 27.2. Do I miss latex packages maybe?

This seems to be mostly a zotero/bibtex/latex question, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one trying to write my CV with Org so these must be not so rare concerns (although I cannot find good ressources on the net about these!).

Thanks for the help!

edit: I tried using bibtool to sort my .bib file and be done with that part, but bibtool can't even sort by the date field (ISO encoded YYYY-MM-DD) correctly! This is insane.

   submitted by    /u/SataMaxx
[link]   [comments]
