I was trying to install arch linux on my old laptop but things didnt go as planned. I was first following this guide but i needed to go to sleep so i left it for other day. I didnt do much so i continue but i didnt understand what it was saying so i found this tutorial, but again, me being a dumb**s i didnt understand that too. And then I found this tutorial on youtube and it seemed to work best for me and i will try to do that tonight when i come back from school. I tried to do it last night but i needed to go to sleep and now this morning i turn on my laptop, boot my media installation but arch-chroot /mnt didnt work. So i need to do everything again..... I actually had problem with partitions and as I'm writing this i decide to restart my laptop because my pc crashed and i was thinking that the laptop is working for nothing so i turn it off. Then i remember i need names of partitions so i again turn on my laptop boot the media and partitions that i wanted to delete werent there. I deleted them already but i just need to restart which i did so everything works now. Sorry for this long post but yk... I also have one question. Which apps and packages do you recommend me to use? Also anything else to tell me about arch linux which i need to know? Oh, and also, when i install arch linux and gui and boot loader, etc. can i create a swap partition or do i need to create it now when im installing everything? Thanks for any help and sorry for long post. Also my pc specs are 111gb hdd, intel celereon (idk which one), 2gb ram (thats why i want swap partition) (idk speed and what ddr is it).

   submitted by /u/klarkbj
[link] [comments]

As you all know—at least if you’ve been around Irreal for a while—I like reading through other peoples Emacs configurations. It’s not just a matter of voyeurism; I almost always learn something from seeing how others use Emacs. The latest example is this post from Supratim Samanta.

It’s in the form of an Org file so there’s a bit of explanation included. Samanta has all the usual use cases

Coding

Documentation with Org-mode

Elfeed

Magit

Evil for the Vim experience

It’s a fairly extensive configuration so there may be ideas lurking in it that you’ll find useful. Take a look and see.
