<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Hi all,</p> <p>As the title says, I'm trying to move to Emacs 28, from Emacs 27, but I'm having all kinds of weird problems with the packages I use.</p> <p>This is my config BTW: <a href="https://github.com/croqaz/dotfiles/blob/main/emacs/Emacs.org">https://github.com/croqaz/dotfiles/blob/main/emacs/Emacs.org</a></p> <p>Basically I have "random errors" with random packages.</p> <p>First there's IVY and the suite of packages, the error is:</p> <p><code>custom-initialize-reset: Cannot open load file: No such file or directory, ../../../../../../.emacs.default/straight/build/ivy/ivy</code></p> <p>I comment ivy, counsel, swiper, ivy-rich, then I get the same error about another package. I comment it and I get another error, etc until I comment: centaur-tabs, doom-modeline, dimmer, which-key, maybe a few more.</p> <p>Then I delete <code>~/.emacs.default/straight/build/ivy</code> and re-enable ivy AND move it immediately after use-package initialization and now it works!</p> <p>Then I re-enable all of them, one by one until they all work again!</p> <p>It's like one package in there is causing some problems and makes all the other packages after it, to go crazy, that's why I have to move them higher to make it work.</p> <p>I tried this so so so many times, that I made it work, but it's a huge pain!</p> <p>Anybody else that understands the new version, that can help me?</p> <p>Thank you in advance!</p> <p>EDIT 1: Other than the problem with packages that I just mentioned, upgrading from Emacs 27 to 28 was painless.</p> <p>EDIT 2: Actually I also had the same trouble with yasnippet, company, js2, typescript and LSP packages...</p> </div><!-- SC_ON -->   submitted by   <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/croqaz"> /u/croqaz </a> <br/> <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/rcg4r2/help_transitioning_to_emacs_28/">[link]</a></span>   <span><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/rcg4r2/help_transitioning_to_emacs_28/">[comments]</a></span>

The display is listed as a "640x360 Optical Display Module," which sounds identical to the original Google Glass display component. We’re excited and humbled by the amount of interest and website traffic, and especially the number of people who have placed their pre-orders for the <a href="https://frame.work/products/laptop">Framework Laptop</a> and <a href="https://frame.work/products/laptop-diy-edition">DIY Edition</a>. We’ve sold out of Batch 1 pre-orders for the Base and Performance versions, with just a few Professional units left. Norm was able to try out many of the useful upgrade, customization, and repair scenarios for the Framework Laptop.</p>

Alex got a chance to try out many parts of the system that really need to be experienced in person to fully appreciate, like the keyboard “Typing on the Framework's default keyboard feels comfy and responsive”, webcam “In my limited testing the video captured by the webcam was sharp and vibrant.” and overall feel “the Framework laptop I played around with this month was as svelte as any MacBook, and the keyboard and chassis felt sturdy and durable in my hands.”</p>
