under these conditions:

• desktop machine
• discrete GPU
• HQ FullHD external display, say, 24"

using these potential "groups of tweaks" (via fontconfig):

• v35, v40 FreeType engine selection
• sub-pixel rendering, hinting, specific font selection (which?)
• default/light/legacy filter
• etc.

What are your/the best possible combinations making fonts as sharp as possible for coding? Especially dark text on light backgrounds still feels a little bit blurrier to me than it could perhaps be. (no HW problem; please no "buy a 4K advice" :-) )
