Edit: title should say "breaks KDE", not archlinux. Sorry about that.
Hi, I recently purchased a new monitor. Been using an 8 year old 60 hz acer up until now, so I was looking forward to getting some multi-window development going. When I first launched archlinux with the monitor it loaded fine. I left my pc for 10 or so minutes and it fell asleep, when I woke it up everything's resolution was blurry. I tried to fix by going to the monitor settings and adjusting stuff. When I changed the refresh rate from 60hz to 120hz the monitor lost its connection to KDE, just showed a blank screen with a "missing connection" window in the middle. Since then I have not been able to launch into KDE on the new monitor, I'm currently back to using my old monitor for now. I tried to use my old monitor to change the settings for the new monitor but when I plug the new one in, while the old monitor continues to show stuff it becomes unresponsive. I tried to change the settings manually back to 60hz by going to ~/.local/shared/kscreen and both deleting the files for the new monitor as well as editing them manually, both didn't work. Would anyone know how to solve this issue?
I'm running an Nvidia 3080 if that helps at all, I've read that there are sometimes difficulties with Nvidia drivers
