installed Arch on my Thinkpad T430 today. During the installation, everything was working fine (I followed the installation guide). After I rebooted, the "a s d f j k l ;" keys stopped working. When I do "showkey --scancodes", nothing shows up when I hit those keys. What's odd to me, though, is that on the login screen, if I press "a" for the first time, "\;lkjfdaaaaa..." starts typing. I can use USB keyboard just fine. Just the laptop keyboard is messed up.

I tried setting the keymap to US but that didn't change anything. I've repeated the installation but the same problem arises. Any tips on what I can try?

   submitted by /u/gnhs
[link] [comments]
