I keep getting this error trying to access M-x org-agenda then "t" for a global TODO list. Should be simple, right?

I have been following DT, System Crafters, etc. I even went to a very basic ~/.emecs.d/init.el file with 5 commands to setup Org and org-agenda with the requisite org-agenda-files list pointing to one org file with 2 TODOs.

I have tried this on a ThinkPad Ext Gen 4 running Ubuntu 21.10 and a ThinkPad w520 running Ubuntu 21.04. But, I keep getting the same error. I am running Emacs 27.1 on both. But, I tried 27.2 earlier with same results.

Is anyone else having issues? I was only able to find one helpful mailing post regarding a change to the Org installation doc as follows: "Important: You need to do this in a session where no '.org' file has been visited ..." - not sure what I should do with this.

My next attempt will be to reinstall Ubuntu and then install on another distro. I suppose, I could also try pre-27 emacs versions, but I like the 27 upgrades.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this (before I reinstall)?

Thank you in advance!

   submitted by /u/Personal-Heat-8980
[link] [comments]
