Since around when NVIDIA released hardware acceleration for xwayland, my steam crashes after a somewhat random interval, usually half an hour or so. At first I thought it was Wayland weirdness and expected patches to fix it up, but I've since moved back to xorg and the issue persists. There was a recent update to steams bundled chromium engine that I thought might solve the issue, but it hasn't. When the crashes first started happening, steam used to display an error handler saying something like function gpu-trace failed, though that doesn't seem to show up anymore. I'm on a laptop with a ryzen 3000 (Vega integrated GPU) alongside a GTX 1650. Any advice on debugging this issue would be appreciated, I'm not sure where to start

   submitted by /u/bongjutsu
[link] [comments]
