What happened: - Ran
paru -Syyu
- Also started
flatpak update
in another shell - Noticed that
flatpak update
had failed with an odd error - My
paru
command was at the dkms step, seemed to be stuck - I have kernel-modules-hook installed - Every command I tried failed with an error. I also couldn't spawn a new shell or launch any programs. Switching TTYs hung at a black screen, but I was able to switch back. The command line error looked like a permission/execution issue and not missing files. In panic I shutdown, so I don't remember the exact error - Firefox, which was already running at the time was able to navigate to new sites - I saw a lot of [FAILED] when shutting down - On boot, all of my boot entries were missing, except memtest

I was able to access my files using the arch ISO and manually mounting my systemd-homed directory. I'm backing everything up now.

Hoping to get help with these: - Figuring out how to boot back into my system - Figuring out exactly what happened

Any suggestions/guidance is appreciated.

   submitted by /u/l3s2d
[link] [comments]
