Sorry about that.</p> <p>Hi, I recently purchased <a href="https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/alienware-38-curved-gaming-monitor-aw3821dw/apd/210-axvg/monitors-monitor-accessories">a new monitor</a>. Been using an 8 year old 60 hz acer up until now, so I was looking forward to getting some multi-window development going. When I first launched archlinux with the monitor it loaded fine. I left my pc for 10 or so minutes and it fell asleep, when I woke it up everything's resolution was blurry. I tried to fix by going to the monitor settings and adjusting stuff. When I changed the refresh rate from 60hz to 120hz the monitor lost its connection to KDE, just showed a blank screen with a "missing connection" window in the middle. Since then I have not been able to launch into KDE on the new monitor, I'm currently back to using my old monitor for now. I tried to use my old monitor to change the settings for the new monitor but when I plug the new one in, while the old monitor continues to show stuff it becomes unresponsive. I tried to change the settings manually back to 60hz by going to ~/.local/shared/kscreen and both deleting the files for the new monitor as well as editing them manually, both didn't work.
