Ive successfully managed to install Arch on my new laptop and Ive got nearly everything set up perfectly. I installed the intel and NVIDIA drivers without any issues and I have optimus manager running MOSTLY fine. Theres just one last issue Id like to tackle so my system is set up perfectly, and thats hybrid graphics. For whatever reason I cant get hybrid mode to work. Ive done everything the wiki suggests but so far nothing has helped. Integrated mode works, NVIDIA mode works. I can boot up with either option and switch freely between them without issues. But if I enable hybrid mode, I just boot up to a black screen if I manually edit the optimus config file, and Im just unable to log back in when I use optimus-manager —switch hybrid. Its not a huge problem because I can still use both of the single GPU modes, but its a little inconvenient to have to log out whenever I want to use my NVIDIA card. Anyone able to offer some insight as to what could be going wrong here?

   submitted by /u/KingD-3
[link] [comments]
