I’ve successfully managed to install Arch on my new laptop and I’ve got nearly everything set up perfectly. I installed the intel and NVIDIA drivers without any issues and I have optimus manager running MOSTLY fine. There’s just one last issue I’d like to tackle so my system is set up perfectly, and that’s hybrid graphics. For whatever reason I can’t get hybrid mode to work. I’ve done everything the wiki suggests but so far nothing has helped. Integrated mode works, NVIDIA mode works. I can boot up with either option and switch freely between them without issues. But if I enable hybrid mode, I just boot up to a black screen if I manually edit the optimus config file, and I’m just unable to log back in when I use optimus-manager —switch hybrid. It’s not a huge problem because I can still use both of the single GPU modes, but it’s a little inconvenient to have to log out whenever I want to use my NVIDIA card. Anyone able to offer some insight as to what could be going wrong here?

   submitted by /u/KingD-3
[link] [comments] |
