<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>I've been practicing installing arch on a vm in the last few days and initially I tought the manual install process would be a real chore. I was contemplating using a pre made script or even archgui (which are excellent tools, btw) to automate things for me, but I decided against that and started learning how to do the instalation manually. What an experience that was! In the last 5 days or so I learned more about what a linux distro actually is and how stuff works than in all the years I've been running Ubuntu (which is a good distro, but I wanted to actually understand and have more control about my system). The arch "do it yourself" spirit really provides an enlightening experience and I'm really enjoying it! Everyone should give this a go, even if just on a vm to test things out in a safe enviroment.
